Appeal launched to find missing Sunderland antique dealer

A search is under way to find a well-known antique shop owner who has been missing for more than a week.

David Whitfield, who runs The Old Curiosity Shope and House Clearance Specialist in Roker Baths Road, in Sunderland, was last seen at his home address in Foster Road in the city on Monday, November 28.

The 56-year-old, who is also an author, is believed to be in the North Yorkshire area and inquiries are ongoing by Northumbria Police to find him.

He is described as 6ft tall, of medium build and has short black hair and a tanned complexion.

He was wearing a checked shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes when he was last seen.

It is believed he may have left in a burgundy Ford Galaxy.
