ANTIQUES experts gave their opinion on Sunderland’s heirlooms when they visited an auction house for the second time.

Paul Laidlaw and David Harper, of BBC2’s Antiques Road Trip, attended the sale at Boldon Auction Galleries yesterday.

The pair arrived in the programme’s classic car, then competed against each other in the auction to see who could make a profit on their items.

Caroline Hodges, of the auction house, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Antiques Road Trip back to our saleroom for the second time.

“Flog It! will also be filming at our next quarterly Fine Art and Antique Auction.”

Flog It! is inviting people to have antiques valued for free on Saturday, May 25, at the Discovery Museum, Newcastle.

If owners want to sell their pieces, they will be considered for sale at the Boldon auction on Wednesday, June 12.
