ANOTHER road crash has happened at a danger junction on Wearside today.
A VW Polo and a Ford Fusion collided at Stoneygate junction on the A690 road on Thursday morning.
Police say neither driver have believed to have suffered serious injuries in the smash.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “At 8.48am on Thursday, police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Stoneygate in Houghton.
“Vehicles involved are a VW Polo and a Ford Fusion.
“We are waiting for the vehicles to be uplifted and taken away.
“The road is not closed but is causing some delays.
“Both drivers appear to have no serious injuries.”
Sunderland City Council recently announced plans to hold a consultation over proposals to close the right turns at the junction in a bid to prevent further accidents.
