Up and coming North East bands wanted for Evolution Emerging
Emerging North-East acts are being invited to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Nadine Shah, Hyde & Beast and The Lake Poets.
Music development agency Generator is once again looking for the region's best emerging talent to showcase at this year's Evolution Emerging festival.
The event, now in its eighth year, will be held at independent venues in the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle on Saturday, May 28.
It will see 40+ emerging artists playing alongside special guest headliners and artists unearthed through the Tipping Point blog.
The deadline for bands or solo artists to apply in 11.59pm on Friday, January 29. To apply, CLICK HERE.
The event continues to unearth new artists from the region and beyond, and has previously showcased notable performances from the likes of Nadine Shah, Hyde and Beast, Lanterns On The Lake, Beth Jeans Houghton, Eliza and the Bear, Lisbon, Shields, The Lake Poets and Lulu James.
Bob Allan, artist development manager at Generator says: “Following another sold-out year we’re really excited to be heading into our eighth festival.
"The core of the event will continue to showcase artists from the North East alongside some of our favourites from around the UK.
"The growth of this event is testament to the talent that thrives in our region and the appetite of festival goers to discover the best we have to offer.
"Live opportunities are crucial to an artist’s development and the festival alongside additional support from Generator is an opportunity not to miss out on.”
Generator will invite a panel of North-East music tastemakers to listen to all submissions and vote for their favourites.
Successful artists will be informed in February and Generator will announce the full Evolution Emerging line-up in March.
