Flying paramedics were called to Sunderland after a man fell from a second-floor window.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Murton Street, in the city centre, at 9.45am today.

A man in his thirties is said to have had fallen 30ft out of a second-floor window.

He suffered arm and possible pelvic injuries.

Medics treated him at the scene and then transported to Newcastle’s RVI by road.

The GNAA’s doctor and paramedic accompanied him on route to hospital where his injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.
