Have your say

TV agony Aunt Denise Robertson is preparing to share her words of wisdom with women from across the North East in time for Mother’s Day.

The This Morning star will be appearing at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light as part of the Mum’s the Word Ladies Charity Lunch, on Friday, March 28.

The event, organised by SAFC’s official charity, the Foundation of Light, will be hosted by former Tyne Tees weather girl turned Sky News reporter, Philippa Tomson, with Sunderland-born Denise sharing stories from her life and 26-year TV career.

The team from Darphin Professional Botanical Parisian Skincare Line and the Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall will also be sharing beauty tips throughout the afternoon, with guests enjoying a two-course lunch and a complimentary glass of champagne.

All proceeds from the event, which also includes raffles and an auction, will be used to fund the Foundation of Light’s wide range of sport and education-based programmes, which benefit more than 42,000 young people and families across the North East every year.

Jemma Garrett, events coordinator at the Foundation of Light, said: “This is the first Ladies Lunch organised by the Foundation of Light and we’re delighted that Denise and Philippa have agreed to take part.”

Tickets for the Mum’s the Word Ladies Charity Lunch, which runs from noon until 4pm, are £29.50 per person and include a free goody bag. Discounts are available for tables of 10.
