A COMMUNITY centre has launched a host of new sessions and schemes to bring together residents of all ages.

Dawdon Community Centre has put together the programme of events to boost the already-packed timetable of activities it runs.

They include a Rugrats mother and toddler group, which is held each Wednesday from 9.30am to 11.30am.

It takes children up to four-years-old and sessions cost £1.50, which includes a healthy snack and a drink.

Activities include singing, movement and music making, with members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and Sage Gateshead on hand during the classes.

The centre also runs a cafe from 9am to 2.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will also trade on Mondays from April 4.

It comes in addition to its Thursday luncheon club, which costs £3 for a home-cooked meal and a sweet, served from 12.30pm.

The Adventure Club, which is run for children, is planning an Easter fun day with the Shaw Trust.

Activities will include an Easter egg trail, nail art, face painting, and DJ sessions.

It will be held on Thursday, April 21, from 11am to 3pm.
