About a new MP for Labour

On Tuesday, May 9, 1961, Tracy Brabin was born in Batley, West Yorkshire, and the former soap star in Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale for many years. She also won the Batley and Spen by-election as the Labour MP, replacing the late Jo Cox.

In the House of Commons when Tracy made her wonderful and dignified speech, the Labour MPs stood up and gave her a round of applause, and she has been doing a great job indeed.

Tracy’s television appearances as an actress and writer include A Bit of A Do, Hale and Pace, Peak Practice, Mayday Mayday, The Bill, Doctors, Sunburn, Silent Witness, Heartbeat, Holby City, Crossroads, Hollyoaks, Family Affairs, Casualty and The Story of Tracy Beaker.
