A167 closed at Chester-le-Street due to 'serious collision'

A serious accident has closed the A167 on the outskirts of Chester-le-Street.

Durham police say the road is shut in both directions between The Church Mouse and the Red Lion at Plasworth due to a 'serious collisi9on.'

Drivers are being advised to find an alternative route.
