Man set to appear in court charged with burglary at Seaham Chippy

Scott Ainslie will appear before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe accused of burgling a chip shop in Seaham.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Tuesday, March 2 at around 9pm at Seahm Chippy on South Railway Street.

Officers have charged 46-year-old Scott Ainslie with burglary after he was arrested on Tuesday, March 16.

Ainslie has been remanded in custody until April 12 when he is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court.

A statement on the Seaham and Easington Police Facebook page said: “A man is due to appear in court after being charged with burglary at Seaham Chippy on South Railway Street.

“Scott Ainslie, 46 was arrested on Tuesday (March 16) by the neighbourhood team thanks to community intelligence.

"He has been remanded into custody to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on April 12.”
