A male passenger took ill on board a train at 7.53am at Seaburn. Paramedics were called and attended at around 8.15am and the train was back on move towards South Hylton at 8.20am.
A Metro spokesman: “Services towards Sunderland were delayed this morning after a passenger collapsed on a train and required medical attention on board before being taken off to hospital in ambulance.
