A TEENAGER hopes to have the look to launch a catwalk career.
Luke Proctor, from Sunderland, has reached the semi-finals of the UK Elite Model Look competition, a prestigious event which has discovered stars such as Cindy Crawford and Gisele Bundchen.
“I’m just over the moon,” said Luke, 18. “I was scouted at Evolution Festival in Gateshead, and I thought someone was taking the mick, but I got an email a few days later which confirmed it.”
Luke was one of six models from the North East, invited to the next stage in London after an impromptu photo-shoot at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Durham.
“I’ve never done a photo-shoot before so I felt a bit out of place” he said.
However, he was successful and will go to the National Casting on June 22.
The girls will have hair and make-up completed by expert make-up artists and hair stylists, and the boys will be groomed by a team of professionals.
They will have pictures taken against a studio backdrop, before meeting with the panel of Elite Model Look judges, who will decide which 24 contestants make it through to the Elite Model Look UK 2013 Model Bootcamp and Grand Final.
If Luke triumphs, he will visit Milan during Men’s Fashion Week. and have the opportunity to work for some of the world’s most renowned designers.
“I’d be over the moon if I got to go to it,” he said. “I think it would a good experience as I’ve never done anything like this before, so I don’t know what it’s going to be like.”
“My friends are all surprised but happy. My family is over the moon, and my mam is 100 per cent behind me.”
