SUNDERLAND stars will be swapping their kits for designer togs as part of a glitzy fashion show.
Fashion Strikes, the SAFC Foundation’s annual fashion show fund-raiser, will see a number of players from the first team strut their stuff for the charity.
The event, now in its fourth year, will take place at the Stadium of Light, on November 1 and will see the footballers model threads from some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, provided by Newcastle-based department store Fenwick.
Lynsey Thompson, SAFC Foundation head of development, said: “I’m very excited to announce the return of the original North East charity fashion fund-raiser.
“We are aiming to surpass our last three shows and I can guarantee that our guests will be treated to a top quality night of glitz and glamour.”
Guests will be welcomed with a champagne reception before moving to the stadium’s banqueting suite where they will enjoy a three-course meal courtesy of 3663 and a full evening of entertainment in addition to the catwalk show.
Last year’s Fashion Strikes raised £25,000 for the SAFC Foundation, which is the registered charity of Sunderland AFC and works with more than 40,000 children and young people across the North East in education, community, health and sport programmes every year.
The SAFC Foundation is structurally and financially independent of the football club and relies on fund-raising for 95 per cent of project costs.
The organisation celebrates its 10th birthday this year and to celebrate the landmark organisers promise a party atmosphere for guests.
l Tables are on sale for the Fashion Strikes event now, with packages starting from just £1,000 for a table of 10. For further information contact Lynsey Thompson on 551 5191.
