It’s a facial used by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian, and now Reds in East Herrington is offering The Million Dollar Facial.

Scalpels and needles aren’t usually associated with relaxation, but this pain-free procedure uses both to create a glowing look.

Suitable for all skin types, the two-step process involves using the scalpel to remove facial hairs (which is vellus hair so doesn’t grow back thicker or faster afterwards) and deeply exfoliate dead skin cells whilst also polishing the skin.

Next, a dermaplane roller is used to generate new collagen and skin tissue by slightly shocking the skin. It does this by running tiny needles over the surface of the face to prick the skin, which feels slightly like a pins and needles sensation.

Overall, the treatment works to give the skin a smoother, more youthful glow and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation and scarring.

It’s one of two new beauty treatments introduced at the salon, which has also started offering state-of-the-art light therapy to help a range of skin conditions.

The salon has recently invested in a Dermalux LED Phototherapy machine.
