Models of the future take part in inclusive casting call for Sunderland-owned Ibiza brand
Budding models took to the catwalk for a casting call to become the face of a Sunderland-owned Ibiza inspired brand.
Sunderland businesswoman Karen Seafield, from South Hylton, was inspired to start her clothes brand, Ibiza Fest Wear after visiting the White Isle and falling in love with its unique spirit and vibrant colours.
She launched the swimwer and festival wear line during lockdown and earlier this month announced a casting call to find a face of the brand.
An open casting call for models who can represent the inclusive message of the brand was recently held at The Purple Peacock in Newcastle, with proceeds going to the Sunderland-based Red Sky Foundation, which raises tens of thousands of pounds for people with heart conditions.
Karen said: “We had an absolutely fantastic response from our model casting. It was brilliant to have a wide range of models attending which is exactly what we are looking for the brand.
"The finalists will be chosen next Friday with my marketing team and it’s going to be really hard trying to pick the finalists as we had so many to choose from. We think we’ll whittle them down to at least 10 models, with one being named as The Face of Ibiza Fest Wear.”
Fashion student Theresa Beange, who is in her second year of a fashion degree at Sunderland University, co-hosted the event.
She said: “The talent was overwhelming and I couldn’t be more pleased and proud of how the night went.”
The final will take place on October 9 at The Sea Hotel in South Shields.
