Incredible footage showing happy times in the golden days of Sunderland's seafront is depicted in this month's CineSecrets.
Each month we reveal a hidden gem showing historic Sunderland on film from the precious collections of the region’s North East Film Archive.
We’ll release a treasure from the archive on our website and Facebook page.
You’ll see the sights and sounds, the faces, changing landscapes and industries of the area.
You’ll experience special events just as they happened and watch everyday lives and the region’s rich past unfold on screen.
Sunderland's seafront is enjoying a renaissance at present, with the recent seeing substantial redevelopment and new businesses opening - and more development on its way.
But the footage in this clip looks back at a time before widespread overseas travel, when the beaches of Sunderland were the place to be on your holidays.

It’s part of North East Film Archive’s major new project NORTH EAST ON FILM, which will re-connect the people and communities of the region with their film heritage and provide important glimpses into our history through special screenings, events and online collections.
CineSecrets: Sunderland has been specially curated with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

This month's clip looks at a trip to the beach at Seaburn and Roker in bygone days and we have the questions for you to think about:
Which year was this?
Seaburn was a favourite place of which famous northern artist?
Where does the signpost outside of Roker’s Bungalow Café point to?
Watch our 60 second clip and test your memory. We’ll see you in a week where we reveal the CineSecrets answers - and share some of your comments.
