CineSecrets: Amazing footage shows packed beaches in the golden days of Sunderland's seafront

Sunderland's seafront is enjoying a renaissance at present, with the recent seeing substantial redevelopment and new businesses opening - and more development on its way.

But the footage in this clip looks back at a time before widespread overseas travel, when the beaches of Sunderland were the place to be on your holidays.
