SUNDERLAND’S top nightspots have been unveiled at a glittering awards ceremony.
Echo readers have spent the last few weeks voting for the venue they wanted to see walk away with the title of the Sunderland Echo’s Great Night Out award.
And last night the winner was unveiled when editor Rob Lawson presented Passion with the gong.
Revolution scooped this year’s top title at the annual Best Bar None awards, when it was crowned the overall winner.
It picked up another award when it was named best bar, while the Lambton Worm walked away with the best pub accolade.
Best community pub in Washington was The Bird Inn, in Sunderland East it was the Holymere, in Sunderland West the Hastings Hill and in the Coalfields, The Wild Boar.
Sunderland City Council deputy leader Coun Harry Trueman said: “I am immensely proud to be part of a scheme that recognises just how great our city is in providing safe and enjoyable venues for residents and visitors alike to relax and unwind.”
