5. Jarrow Hall
Jarrow Hall’s Anglo-Saxon farm and village has reopened with the site’s Bede Museum to follow in May once restrictions allow. In 2020 the venue ran a successful pilot scheme of customers paying once and visiting all season. This will be continued in 2021, with a small increase in the price of tickets which go on sale from April 2. Members of the Acle Early Medieval Re-enactment Society will be encamped in the Anglo-Saxon village on April 17 and 18 and a new exhibition will be on display in the farm. 6. Adventure Valley, Brasside, Durham
From Monday, March 29, Adventure Valley reopen its Mini Golf course to the public before the full park will open its doors to visitors two weeks later on Monday, April 12. Visitors must book online. It has a host of new attractions for visitors to enjoy as lockdown eases. The family adventure park, in Durham, has been making the most of its ‘downtime’ during lockdown to invest in brand new facilities for families and children to enjoy following months of staying at home. These include a mini train ride, a new external play dome and an outdoor aqua blaster as the owner invests almost £200,000 in new attractions. Photo: submitted
7. Washington Wetland Centre
Washington Wetland Centre has reopened its grounds. Online booking has opened and to keep within covid guidelines, there will be daily limits on the number of visitors. The centre, run by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT), will manage numbers to maintain social distancing. 8. Down at the Farm, near Houghton
Down at the Farm reopens from Saturday April 17, 10am-5pm with online bookings due to open. There's plenty to do at the interactive farm whose attractions include donkeys, alpacas, emus and meerkats. Photo: JPI Media
