A PERSONAL trainer on Wearside is offering free advice on how people can keep up with their new year resolutions.

Mum-of-one Katie Bulmer-Cooke is giving a free seminar early next week on how women can make achievable fitness goals in 2012 and beyond.

The 25-year-old, of Ashbrooke, is calling the class “Why Your New Year’s Resolution To Lose Weight Won’t Work”, and says she will be sharing the secrets to success when it comes to seeing resolutions through.

Katie said: “It’s for ‘real’ women, with stressful jobs, who work long hours, have kids and struggle for time.

“I think most people fail to follow their resolutions through because at the start of them they don’t have the right information.

“They are bombarded with things that often haven’t been written by experts.

“They also try to go it alone when they shouldn’t.

“People say ‘I’m going to lose weight’, something I hear all the time, but they don’t put a target on it so it might not work.”

Katie, mum to Heidi, who has just celebrated her first birthday, says she has experience of helping women who’ve had children shed weight which they put on during pregnancy.

“If any people are thinking of why they should listen to me, I’ve helped a few mums lose weight.

“When I had my little girl I lost two-and-a-half stone in 10 weeks, so I’d say I know how to do it.”

The seminar is being held at Ashbrooke Cricket Club, Ashbrooke, on Monday, starting at 7pm.
