THE Red Arrows will return to Sunderland International Airshow this summer.
The distinctive aircraft of the RAF display team are scheduled to fly on both the Saturday and Sunday of airshow weekend.
Sunderland City Council leader Paul Watson said: “The Red Arrows are the RAF’s premier display team and they have a track record of wooing the Sunderland International Airshow crowds.
“It’s great to hear that they’re joining us again in Sunderland for our airshow. Once again they will be showcasing the excellence and professionalism of our Armed Forces personnel.
“I know everyone will be looking forward to seeing the Red Arrows alongside the rest of this year’s line-up.”
Organised by Sunderland City Council, the airshow is now in its 24th year and is one of the largest free events of its kind.
It attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators to the city’s coastline at Roker and Seaburn.
This year’s airshow is held over the weekend of Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July.
