Christine Vibrans, from Washington, 33 illustrated the book ‘The Heroes Inside’, written by her best friend Jessica Edwards, after being moved by how children up and down the country are handling the difficult circumstances of the coronavirus crisis.

20% of the proceeds will go to the NHS.

The story follows the journey of two children on lockdown who make being stuck at home an exciting adventure.

The idea behind the book is to celebrate the heroes of the NHS while also shining a light on how children are dealing with this confusing time.

Christine said: “Jessica and I both love children and there’s lots of confusion for them at the minute. We wanted to do this book to help children understand what’s going on a bit more and know they are not alone.

“The idea to donate 20% to the NHS was there from the very beginning. We wanted to find a way to support them in any we could. They are all heroes.”

Jessica, who is originally from Liverpool, moved to Washington eight years ago with her daughter Jasmine and has been inspired by how communities have come together during the crisis.
