People have been heading to Sunderland’s parks and seafront on the first day of eased coronavirus lockdown regulations.

Mowbray and Roker Parks were busy after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced people were able to meet with members of other households – even if it is one at a time.

And the parking bays along the seafront at Roker and Seaburn were busy as people made the most of the spring sunshine.

Golf clubs have been allowed to reopen and members of the Whitburn club made the most of the chance to resume their hobby,
