COMEDIAN Crissy Rock is game for the chase.

The funny woman, who lives in Peterlee, is to take part in a celebrity edition of hit ITV game show The Chase on Sunday.

She will be competing in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for Liverpool-based charity Families Fighting for Justice (FFFJ), which supports those who have lost a family member through murder or manslaughter.

She said: “We had some real laughs with Bradley, the Chaser and the audience. I agreed to do it to raise cash for FFFJ and also to give the charity some national exposure and recognition.

“I am not allowed to give any details of the outcome on Sunday, however my charity will benefit and the public will become more aware of FFFJ, so I am thrilled with that.

“Through the telly recognition for FFFJ, the charity will hopefully receive a huge boost when the millions watching will hear of the outstanding work they do.”

Crissy, who shot to fame with comedy sitcom Benidorm, featured in the last series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

She will return to screens later this year in a remake of the classic 1970s series Hazell alongside ex Eastender’s Leslie Grantham.

Fresh from filming for The Chase, she is gearing up for regional Christmas shows.

She said: “People see me on TV in shows like Benidorm and the ‘Jungle’, but many don’t realise I have been working the stand up comedy circuit for thirty plus years. I gained much of my experience back in the early days performing to social club audiences.”
