Are you ready to plant a tree for the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations? Looks like these Wearside and East Durham people have already got into the spirit of it.
A huge milestone will be reached next year when Her Majesty will have marked 70 years as Queen. To mark the achievement, an initiative called The Queen's Green Canopy has been launched.
It encourages people to plant a tree for the jubilee but the people of Sunderland and County Durham are already experts at helping the environment as these retro photos show.
