Photo reminders of the lion park which closed 40 years ago - did you pay a visit?

Four decades have passed since we said goodbye to an attraction which pulled in thousands of visitors each year.

Lambton Lion Park was open between 1972 and 1980 and readers had a whole host of memories when we asked for your recollections in 2018.

More than 1,500 people left comments – especially about the inquisitive monkeys on the site which loved to come up close to the visiting cars.

Who remembers the gift shop, fairground rides and more.
