Keith explained that his father used to live in Sunderland and worked at Doxfords shipyard but left Wearside in 1954 to work as a riveter in a Beverley shipyard on minesweepers.

He said his brother Keith hails from Sunderland and took the footage on a return to Wearside in 1983.

We would also love to hear from people who have their own video reminders of Wearside from times gone by that you would like to share with us.
