Muriel Carr: “Oh my word - this brings back good memories that make me smile - my lovely dad and his leeks, carrots, tomatoes, chrysanthemums etc etc - and they got free pints for taking part bless them - those were the days my friends.”

John Bell: “As a student, I worked at Silksworth Workingmen's Club and Grindon Broadway Club during the holidays in the late 60s and early 70s! Great times! Fondly remembered!”
