It was the year when we got snow before December even started.
Just imagine it! Thick layers of snow lay on Sunderland 10 years ago this month.
And when our photographers got out and about, they captured these wonderful scenes.
On the downside, it was the coldest December since the 1650s and some parts of the country saw up to 30 inches of snow.
For others, it was a beautiful, crisp white scene which we rarely see at this time of year.
