We have compiled a list of 9 pubs from Sunderland’s past which most get you talking.

Each of them has been spotlighted on the Echo Facebook page or on our Wearside Echoes page on Facebook. It’s the Sunderland Echo’s page which is dedicated to nostalgia and has more than 5,500 members.

Over the years, we have featured photos of hostelries from Wearside’s past and these are the ones that you love to share memories about.

Here is a photo of Brogans in 2005. Back in 2018 when we featured the pub plenty of you commented. Kyle Gibson said it was "class. Used to go for a pint after work on a Friday and dance the soles off me flossys on a saturday." Helen Bell "Loved this place" and Clair Maidens recalled: "Lots of good memories in here. Simon Grundy always playing our requests." John Little commented: "Class best pub in town at the time I had some great nights in there."
