As Sunderland pays its respects on Armistice Day, November 11, Penshaw Monument has been lit up in red.
It’s been captured in camera in these beautiful images – and so has the famous Tommy statue in Seaham.
Today Sunderland honours those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.
