Jenna-Lee Carrington, 15, from Washington, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in December 2019 after being rushed to hospital when she suffered a fit in school.

The Oxclose Community Academy pupil, who had been having migraines and feeling unwell in the run-up to being admitted to hospital, underwent a CT scan at Sunderland Royal Hospital before being taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI).

Since then the family have been determined to make memories with Jenna and over the last year have been on days out together and a holiday to Haggerston Castle.

A huge Little Mix fan, Jenna’s dream of seeing the band performing live came closer when auntie Vicky Barron gave her VIP tickets to see the girls at their Newcastle show of their Confetti tour in May 2021.

And that’s not all, as the band even recorded a special message for Jenna where South Shields star Jade Thirlwall called Jenna ‘incredible’ and thanked her for being a fan.

Now the family are on a mission to catch the attention of the band once again in the hope that Jenna will be able to meet them at the concert.

"Little Mix is one of her favourite bands so the tickets to see them were a surprise from her auntie.”

Jenna, who goes for regular check ups at hospital every four weeks, is still suffering from occasional seizures but has managed to attend school on the days she feels strong enough.

Wendy’s former partner, Paul Wilkinson, has now started an appeal on Twitter where he has been attempting to reach Little Mix in the hope of surprising Jenna and making her dreams come true.

Wendy added: “He got tearful when he saw how delighted Jenna was with the tickets and said how nice it would be for Jenna to meet them.”
