'You have my total respect' - Sunderland pays tribute to health heroes fighting the coronavirus pandemic

The Sunderland community has thanked NHS staff and other key workers for their dedication and support during the coronavirus outbreak.

As the city celebrated the NHS in lighting landmarks blue, hundreds of you got in touch with your own words of gratitude for their hard work.

Tracey Hall: “While the NHS workers are total hero’s to whom I am eternally grateful to, there are lots of staff in the private sector frontline now currently also putting their lives at risk not receiving any recognition.
