No coronavirus deaths in Sunderland care homes during July

Weekly statistics published today, Tuesday, July 21, show that the number of covid-19 fatalities at city care homes since April 10, when figures were first recorded, remains at 93.
The figures, which cover up to Friday, July 17 , have been released by the Office for National Statistics following pressure on the Government to be clear on how many people have died of the virus while being cared for in homes.

Hide AdThey indicate that the number of coronavirus-related care home deaths across the region has increased to 1,109.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics on Tuesday, July 21, show there were 1,109 coronavirus-related deaths in North East care homes between April 10 and July 17.
The alphabetical breakdown is as follows:

Darlington 61
Gateshead 80
Hartlepool 45
Middlesbrough 63
Newcastle 110
North Tyneside 48
Northumberland 107
Redcar and Cleveland 42
Stockton 59
Sunderland 93
