Four international students have completed their diploma with Brewlab after they were unable to return home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bo Huang from China, Sangay Dorji from Bhutan, Brais Mallo from Spain, and Yogi Raj from India all managed to complete the course and even brewed their own beer while living in student accommodation.

Instead, their training was done online before receiving a brewing system so they could craft their own beers in the kitchen.
Keith Thomas is the director at Brewlab, he praised the students for their efforts.
He said: “Really well done to them to continue the course, particularly as they have been away from home during the pandemic.

“The beer could become a business starter for them. They will be able to take the recipe away and create it in their own countries.”
Brewlab are looking to brew the beer at the Darwin Brewery in Sunderland with the aim of testing it commercially.
