Broadway Junior School has been awarded £5,000 worth of Lidl vouchers to support its breakfast club.

A music video was filmed showing why students love their school and they beat applications from across England, Wales and Scotland to win the competition, launched by the NSPCC in partnership with Lidl.

John McCabe, the teacher who organised the entry, said the breakfast club was featured in the song.

He added: “When we decided to enter the competition, we couldn’t decide whether to write a poem, compose a song or make a short film, so we decided to combine all three ideas.

“Winning means we can not only support our breakfast club, but it will help promote healthy eating and all aspects of food technology across the school.”

Tianna Cowan, senior fund-raising manager for the NSPCC, said: “Broadway Junior School put forward a fantastically creative entry.”
