Another Sunderland secondary school tells pupils to self isolate after coronavirus case confirmation

Biddick Academy head teacher Kate Morris wrote a letter to parents on September 21 to keep them informed of the situation.
The school remains open but some children will be staying at home for the next two weeks.

Hide AdThe letter said: “The small number of children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.
“The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well.”
The Academy is the fifth secondary school in the area to confirm a case this week after Seaham High School, the Venerable Bede C of E Academy in Ryhope and Washington Academy all reported cases.
Miss Morris said Public Health England had contacted them about the case.
