The Sunderland school, on Portsmouth Road, informed parents on Monday, September 14 of the positive test – but said only students who were on a “close-contact” basis with the affected pupil will have to self-isolate.
In a letter to parents, the school said that a full risk assessment has been carried out and all those who have been in close contact have been told to stay at home.

The letter to parents from the school said: “This morning, I contacted the parents/carers of some students currently attending Year 10 in Academy 360’s secondary phase to alert them to the fact that a child has tested Covid-19 positive.
"We have carried out a full risk assessment and identified all those who have been in close contact with the affected case and have recommended that they stay at home and self- isolate.
