Drug driving, damaging sofas and failing to report an accident: Sunderland cases heard by magistrates

Ethan Wilson, 19, of Bridle Path, East Boldon, was banned from driving for 24 months, ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order and to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting careless driving, drug driving, driving without a valid licence and without insurance on June 30.

Neil Oates, 38, of Thornton Court, Glebe, Washington, was placed on a community order and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on October 7.

Josh Downs, 26, of Association Road, Sunderland, was banned from driving for 24 months and ordered to pay a £416 fine, £42 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting failing to report an accident and failing to provide a specimen of breath on January 24.

Lee Fairley, 31, of Canon Cockin Street, Hendon, Sunderland, received a 12-week jail term, which was suspended for 18 months, after he admitted making threats to damage property and breaching a restraining order on February 21 and admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements.

Paul Burnett, 27, of Warwick Street, Sunderland, was ordered to pay £1,530 compensation after admitting causing criminal damage to two sofas on July 5.

Thomas Smith, 61, of Edward Street, Hetton, was fined £80 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting breaching a restraining order on January 21.

Joshua William Richardson, 28, of Brick Garth, Easington Lane, was fined £160 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting being drunk and disorderly in Sunderland on December 17, 2019 and failing to surrender to custody on January 22.
