Sunderland Ice Rink booking now open
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – so it’s time to get your skates on for some fabulous family fun in the heart of Sunderland.
A magical winter wonderland awaits at the Sunderland Ice Rink in Keel Square, which is due to open on Saturday, November 27.
It’s back and ready to book seven days a week, for the perfect winter experience for people of all ages.
Don’t let the weather spoil your day or night out; organisers say the Sunderland Ice Rink is better than ever before with a superb new all-weather surface, protected by a marquee. Say goodbye to wind and rain and hello to a magical Christmas for 2021, they’ve got fun covered this winter.
As well as being open to the public seven days a week you can book it for private hire – whether you fancy a fantastic family event or a works night out with a difference, all skates lead to Sunderland. From November 27 to January 3 (except for Christmas and New Year’s Day when it is closed to allow Santa’s little helpers some time off) you can book seven days a week. Opening times 27 November to 17 December, Monday to Friday 12 noon – 9pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 9pm; 18 December – 3 January all week 10am – 9pm, Christmas Eve 10am – 6pm.
Sessions last up to 45 minutes and the ticket price includes skate hire but excludes the online booking fee. See the website for full details.
Booking is always strongly recommended, but it is vital for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Don’t miss out on the Food & Drink pop ups 2pm – 9pm (or until sold out) on Saturday 27 November, 4, 11 and 18 December. There will also be the Jacket Inn, Sweet Petite and a drinks trader.
Make it extra magical and go skating with Christmas characters on 4, 11 and 18 December 10am – 11am.
There will be inclusive skating sessions on 5 and 19 Dec at 10am – 11am.
