Assaulting police, criminal damage and other recent Sunderland court cases

The following cases from the Sunderland area were dealt with recently by South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court, which sits at Sunderland and South Shields:

Jonathan Adams, 23, of Palgrove Road, Sunderland, was fined £210 and ordered to pay a £35 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting resisting a police officer in the course of their duty on December 29.

Maguire Joseph Armstrong, 19, of Westward Place, Washington, was placed on a community order and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting committing assault and criminal damage on December 4.

Lewis Britton, 30, of Leechmere Road, Grangetown, Sunderland, was fined £180 and ordered to pay a £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting breaching a restraining order on October 15.

Michael William Hewitt, 29, of Echo Buildings, Sunderland, was banned from driving for four months and ordered to pay an £180 fine, £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting being in charge of a car while over the legal alcohol limit on December 26.

Lynsey Robinson, also known as Larcombe, 43, of Murrayfield, Doxford Park, Sunderland, was banned from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting failing to provide a specimen of breath for testing, assaulting a police officer and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on April 28.

Dale Macbeth, 30, of Mclennan Court, Washington, received six penalty points on his driving licence after admitting driving without a valid licence and insurance on April 20.

Emile John Walker, 20, of Hopewood Park Hospital, Sunderland, received an 18-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge after admitting committing two assaults on March 17 and April 13.
