'Absolute genius': Sunderland fans react to hilarious Luke O'Nien photos as Cats midfielder runs Twitter competition

Luke O’Nien has been having fun with Sunderland fans on social media after a picture which was taken of him against MK Dons in the Papa John's Trophy.

Our photographer Frank Reid took a photo of O’Nien making a committed tackle at Stadium MK, in a match the Black Cats won 3-0 to progress to the next round of the competition.

Sunderland supporters got creative with the image and photoshopped O’Nien in different locations, ranging from famous film scenes to major sporting events.

O’Nien also saw the funny side and started a competition by tweeting: “Best photoshop of this picture, wins a signed pair of my playing boots.”

The Black Cats midfielder has narrowed it down to his favourite four edits and says he will announce the winner soon.
