Sunderland would have to pay Wigan Athletic £300,000 if they won promotion, according to a report.

The Sun on Sunday claim Sunderland would owe £300,000 as part of the transfer deals struck for Will Grigg and Max Power

Grigg signed in a deal worth up to £3million and was a flop on Wearside, the striker is currently on loan at League One rivals MK Dons.

Max Power, meanwhile, has established himself as a key member of the starting XI under boss Lee Johnson, with Sunderland pushing for promotion.
