The EFL this morning announced the revised schedule for summer business, which will allow Sunderland and clubs throughout the pyramid to sign and sell players right through until October 5th.
As it stands, there is still no date for the start of the new League One season but it is certain to be well after the usual date for beginning a campaign.

The EFL have this morning also announced that there will be an extra two weeks in which its clubs can do business with each other and also with Premier League clubs.
This window for domestic business will close on Friday October 16th.
The dates remain subject to formal ratification.
It is likely to be a busy summer for Sunderland, who are yet to complete their first deal and currently have a threadbare squad contracted for the new campaign.
