Sunderland City Council meeting suspended after councillor falls ill
Tonight's full meeting of Sunderland City Council was suspended for almost an hour after a councillor fell ill.
Concerns were raised for one of the authority's members just 10 minutes into the 6pm meeting.
An ambulance was called to Sunderland Civic Centre, and the councillor concerned was taken to hospital for a check-up.
The meeting resumed shortly before 7pm.
