Liverpool v Sunderland: Allen set for Reds return against Black Cats

Midfielder Joe Allen is expected to overcome a shoulder injury to be available for the visit of Sunderland tomorrow.

Strikers Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi and playmaker Philippe Coutinho all returned to training this week but will not be available until Tuesday night’s FA Cup replay at West Ham at the earliest.

Defender Martin Skrtel has suffered a minor setback in his rehabilitation from a hamstring problem and will be out for a further two to three weeks.

Liverpool are looking for a Premier League double, having won 1-0 at the Stadium of Light in December.
