One of the affected allotments is owned by the uncle of 18-year-old Dylan Daymond, who was at the scene watching fire crews work.
He said: “We’ve just heard there is a fire. Obviously we can’t get in to see what’s happened and we don’t know if much has been damaged.”
A firefighter from TWFRS told the Echo at the scene that some mixed rubbish had caught fire and that there were concerns over some cylinders within the allotment site.

"We would advise local residents to try and keep their windows and doors closed."
