Cocaine, heroin and cannabis seized and a man and a woman arrested after police raid in Hendon

The early-morning warrant was executed at an address in Hendon after police received intelligence of suspicious activity taking place from the house.
Officers set their alarms early and swooped on the property – and inside they located quantities of cocaine, heroin and cannabis.

Hide AdThe drugs were seized and two people inside the house were arrested.
Northumbria Police has confirmed a 40-year-old man has been charged with possessing heroin and cocaine.
He is due to appear before magistrates in South Tyneside next month.
A 29-year-old woman has been handed a caution after being found to be in possession of a small quantity of cannabis.

Hide AdNeighbourhood Inspector Jamie Southwell has thanked the local community for their support and says the warrant should send out a strong message to anybody involved in drug-dealing and misuse across the city.
“The illicit sale and misuse of drugs is far from a victimless crime – it can have devastating and potentially fatal consequences for users, their families and the wider community as a whole,” Insp Southwell said.
“We hope this activity sends a reassuring message to those living in Hendon.
“They have reported their concerns to us and we have taken swift and decisive action to try and uncover suspected criminality.

Hide Ad“We have now been able to seize a number of drugs and prevent them from coming onto our streets. We have spoken to two people in connection with the investigation and a man has now been charged with drug-related offences.
“Anyone who is concerned about drug-dealing or drug misuse in their area is encouraged to get in touch. This case shows we will take proactive action following any intelligence received and we will continue to look to bring perpetrators to justice.”
