It really is testament to the confidence people have in the STACK concept that so many street food traders and lifestyle companies have signed up to take a unit during what has been the most challenging period imaginable for the sector.
“STACK offers a unique experience to customers, which ensures they keep coming back time and time again. The variety of food, drink and services on offer makes the place vibrant and welcoming all year round. And with a full line up of entertainment planned to include; live music, quizzes, dog days and wellness events, there is something for everyone."
STACK is part of the wider Seafront Regeneration Scheme which includes the construction of the Seaburn Inn, a 40-bedroom pub with rooms on the former Pullman Lodge site; the next phase of Pier Point in Roker; the creation of 12 beach huts and the transformation of an old toilet block in Roker, along with the former Bay Shelter and the old tram shelter at Seaburn, into cafés and restaurants.
Councillor Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, said: “We have a stunning seaside that will be greatly enhanced by the arrival of this exciting line-up of traders, who will bring something new and different to the area.

Residents are fiercely proud of our seaside and they support it, and visitors are increasingly attracted to the area - and we’ll continue to see that appeal grow, as we create a better offer for families and friends to enjoy.”
A new housing scheme is also moving ahead at Seaburn, after the council signed a deal with Avant Homes to develop land to the rear of STACK.
