THE latest production by Durham’s young stage stars has much more than just the Bare Necessities.

Junior members of Gala Theatre Stage School (GTSS) perform Disney classic The Jungle Book at the city’s Gala Theatre, today and tomorrow.

Mowgli, Baloo and the gang will swing their way through crazy adventures and a bid to thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan.

Specially adapted from the film, the production includes classic tunes such as The Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You.

Performed by youngsters aged from five to seven, it features colourful characters and a toe-tapping score.

GTSS director Kate Sorahan said: “This is a great opportunity for the juniors to really showcase their amazing talents in singing, dancing and acting through song.

“This is definitely one for all ages.”

Shows are at 7pm today, and 2pm and tomorrow.

Tickets for the show at £8 are available from the box office, or call 03000 266 600 or visit www.galadurham.co.uk.
