FLAMBOYANT Rhydian Roberts has been helping to inspire the city’s stars of the future.
The former X Factor singer joined other stars from Grease, Danny Bayne and Carina Gillespie, which is this week running at the Sunderland Empire, to launch the venue’s annual summer school.
The theatre is looking for a host of nine to 25 year olds to take part in the Stage Experience 2012.
Participants will star in and stage Fame as part of the annual school, which gives youngsters the chance to learn more about the craft of acting and what goes on behind the scenes.
It will run from July 23 to August 4.
Based on the Academy Award-winning film, Fame The Musical charts the successes and strains of a group of students attending New York’s High School for the Performing Arts.
* Tickets for Fame The Musical, costing £8-£16, go on sale on Monday.
* Grease is at the Sunderland Empire until Saturday, November 5, with tickets costing £18.50 to £36.
